I'm a huge fan of books, all kinds of books, but the old classics are special. I read Dracula too many years ago. Recently I re-read it on my kindle app (it's free as en e-book). At first, I was a little nervous about how the whole vampire thing was going to be for me. It's also been a very long time sinse I had entered into a world of vampires!
As I read this book again I was reminded of how great this book is. The narrative style was fantastic. The use of diary entries is inspiring. The plot incredibly deep. Stoker managed to get me to connect to all of the characters deeper than I expected!
The other thing that surprised me was how much faith is in this book. Sure, it's about a vampire who sucks the blood and the very life from people but it's also about faith in God. In fact, it's more about faith in God than it is about a vampire.
I can imagine Christians refusing to read this book because of the vampire thing. If you're like me, perhaps you need to give it a shot and be reminded of how God does triumph over evil. And it's such a good read!
